•Asker is the 3rd child in a family of five children. She lives with her parent and siblings in a household of 6 people in a one roomed house in Kibera slum. Her father is the primary provider, who does temporary work in the slums of Kibera to earn a living. Temporary jobs are hard to find on a daily basis.

•Her mother works as a hairdresser to support the family. Work is sporadic, at best, which leads to unsteady income. The major challenge the family faces is paying house rent. On several occasions they have slept in the cold after they were evicted due to nonpayment of rent. The house they live is in  poor condition and during rainy season the roof leaks and water seeps in. 

•Asker performs averagely in class work. She likes singing and dancing. We have been supporting her but at the moment she has not been able to join high school because we no longer have sponsorship for her.
