•Asha is a fifteen-year-old girl and the third child in a family of three siblings who currently lives at the Rescue Center in Kawangware. Her aunt recently moved to the village in the Western part of Kenya because she was a single parent and had no source of income. She could not afford even the very basic needs. Asha was abandoned by her mother at 6 months of age when her mother left, taking Asha’s older siblings with her. To this date no one knows where she went. Her father is HIV positive and has mental problems so he is not in a position to take care of Asha. Back in the village, as a youngster, she used to beg for food on the streets and wasn’t able to attend school. Asha is humble and polite. She enjoys reading, singing and praying during her free time. Christian Religious Education is her favorite subject. She needs educational support to realize her dream of becoming a social worker
