•Mauline is a seventeen year old girl who lives with her single mother and five siblings in the slum of Kawangware.  She is the first born child in her family. They all live in a one room sheet metal house.

•Mauline’s mother (Beatrice) separated from her husband after she found out he had sexually abused Mauline. One day, Mauline’s mother had to leave and travel to another village, leaving her children in the care of her husband. When she returned a few weeks later, she found out her daughter, Mauline was being sexually abused by her biological father. She reported the case to HTHOCC and then we assisted her by reporting the same to the relevant authorities.

•Beatrice has been struggling with raising the six children. She struggles to take care of her family’s basic needs. She has no source of income and therefore depends on temporary work to put food on the table.

•Mauline loves singing during her free time. By giving her an opportunity to join school like her friends, it will be a step forward in achieving  her dream of becoming a doctor.
