•Cheris is an eleven year-old girl who lives with her HIV positive mother and her older sister, Mercy. When she was born she was diagnosed as being HIV positive but was immediately put on medication. Because there was no delay in treatment, she is now HIV negative.
•Her father abandoned them six months after she was born and since then she has not seen him. He has neglected his parental responsibilities despite being in a position to support the child.
•Her mother, who is now the only provider for the family, works as a house girl in west lands within the county in order to support her two girls. She says that being the only parent is a very big challenge since she has to provide all of her children’s needs. She said feeding and paying her rent are the biggest challenges.
•Cheris loves writing during her free time. She is a bright and obedient girl. By supporting her, she will achieve her dream of being a teacher. Cheris is asking for educational support.
