•Damien lives in the slums of Githurai along the Thika Road with his single mother. She washes clothes for people as a way of earning a living.

•They live in a sheet metal home that leaks when it rains. During the rainy season, everyone shares the bed to stay dry.  They can afford one meal a day and that’s during dinner when they are about to sleep. It’s sad to know Damien goes hungry during the day.

•He often cries because he’s unable to attend school. The other children won’t play with him because of this. He wants to attend school soon and promises to work hard so that he can be number one in his class. He’s really motivated and that will help him do well as his education continues, if he’s able to secure a sponsor.

•Damien loves listening to stories and playing football. Any assistance toward his growth would really help his family.
