•Ivy is a four-year-old girl who lives in the slums of Kawangware. She lives with her single mother and two of her brothers in a one room sheet metal house. Ivy is the youngest and the only girl child in a family of two other siblings.

•The mother separated from the father while ivy was not yet born. He had abandoned his family and went off and married another woman. Ivy’s mother struggled to bring up her three children despite the enormous challenges she faced. At some point she was unable to pay her rent and was evicted and on the streets. She has no source of income and depends on temporary jobs, which are difficult to find, in order to take care of her children.

•Ivy loves playing with her friends during her free time and would like to become a teacher when she grows up. She also likes counting and singing during Sunday school. Being given a chance to attend school will increase her chances of having a successful future.

•She needs educational support.
